Custom URL's for Diaries

Ok so I have a friend who's site runs IPB and he wrote a hack for them thats quite nice. Hes an IPB guy so no point in asking him to write it for vB.

I am posting his announcement, changing the URL;s, as I think it explains best what I am looking for.

It could be very useful for a number of sites if anyone wants to tackle it

I've just wrote and implemented a system that will allow diary owners to create a custom URL for their diary.

It means instead of having a URL like http://forums.vbulletin.org/?showforum=XX for your diary, you can have something a bit more easy to remember, such as http://forums.vbulletin.org/GKNetworksDiary.

All moderators of your diary have access to change this (I figure if you can't trust someone not to change the URL, they really shouldn't be a moderator in the first place).

Rules are simple. 30 characters length max. A-Z, a-z and 0-9 are the only characters allowed. Anything deemed unsavoury/unsuitable by administrators/moderators will be removed or changed.

To start using this feature, you'll find a link in your Control Panel under the Personal Profile section.
