Macromedia flash help/tutorials
Yes, I was interested in learning flash in order to make a video player resembling youtube, myspace video player, break.com, ect ect. I know it would take some time to understand and months of playing around with probably but I want to know if anyone knows any good tutorials or websites that can help me. Maybe start me out with basics then gradually progress to my goal. Any help would be appriciated!

I suggest reading the help manual that comes with Flash.

A tutorial isn't really the same as a manual though; though I realise he did say in his thread title 'manual' as well.
Believe me, a manual is fine for someone who has familiarity with the subject matter, or the more astute. But they are useless for many users. At my job I find myself often putting into plain, understandable, memorable English manuals by big manufacturers and suppliers. This isn't to say a manual isn't helpful, afterall you would expect it in most ways to answer all of your questions. But a tutorial is a much more engaging, and the key to succesful learning is engagement. But anyway, sorry OP but personally I don't know of any tutorials. |

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I guess a manual will help me understand how to control Flash but a tutorial will guide me to a walkthrough on how to get it setup, and that's what I'm looking to do.

Do a search for Flash Tutorials That's how I got started. Start a beginner, intermediate and so on. Another approach is creating something yourself from scratch without tuts, gives you some experience on what works and what doesn't.

It depends on what you want to achieve. If you want flash text. I had a good tutorial, but I can't find it, but this one resembles it - http://www.flashvista.com/details/item/1474/ that's a good one for experimenting.
I believe flash has some built in tuts also. This one is simple http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/fadingtext.htm Here's some video tuts - http://www.video-animation.com/flash_01.shtml |
