vbcustomization question
Hi, i'm the owner of a new website that is being created at www.sharenotes.com. I am currently running phpbb and it is not able to do what i want. I was wondering if vbulletin will work for me (obviously the following will need customization, but i just need to know if it is possible). please visit www.sharenotes.com to get a feel for what i am talking about. Here is what i need:
I want to make the following Static Holders. Study Groups, Product Discussions, Services (these are my major categories of products on my website) Under product discussions, this will be a thread for each product created. all buyers of the product will be offered a chance to join the thread at product checkout. The creater of the product will get the modorator permissions for all their product threads. Services: each category is its own forum (ie a forum for each category created/listed under services when you click the link). then each product will get a thread under the respective category. Each seller is moderator for the thread regarding their product. At check out, the user will have the option to join this thread. Study Groups: a forum should be automatically created for each university added. a subforum for each class under the respective university, a subforum for each teacher, subforum for each, semester, and a subforum for each section. Once a section is created, 2 subcategories will be automatically created: homework discussion & class discussion. Users of the study group will be able to create threads under these two subforums (these are the only places threads can be created). Should a buyer purchase lecture notes, they should be offered the ability to join the study group for the SECTION at checkout. Who ever creates the study group section will be the moderator for that section. Example flow: someone adds a new university, univ1. The forum will automatically add a subfourm understudy groups called Univ1. once a class is created, the subforum will be created, teacher added as they are created, semester added as created, section added as created. Once the section is created, the forum will add the subforums: homework discussion, class discussion. from this point on the user can add threads to eithe rof these subforums (this is the only place for threads). another person just adds a class to univ1. the forum will only add the subforums: class to the existing univ1 parent forum. once again, as the new teacher is created , another subforum automatically created until they get to the section number. if another person just adds a different section to an existing teacher, just the section and its 2 subforums will be added. in a way, this matches the hierarchy of the store. really, the only things being created are various subforums until the section appears at which point it adds the final subforum (always the same in every case) that will actually hold the user created threads. Thank you Josh |
