Changing Links
Hi,
I am considering purchasing vBulletin, and was wondering if there was a mod/hack where I would be able to have the software change links that users post. For example, if a user wants a hyperlink to http://www.amazon.com, it would automatically link to http://www.amazon.com/123 instead of what they wrote. I asked vBulletin technical support, and they said it was not a feature of the software, but I might be able to find something on this website. Thanks in advance. --Bhavik |

If it's not available, you can usually request for something and it's made fairly quickly. Can I ask why you'd want to do that?

Referrer links? I guess.

What about forum replacements?

Thanks. That is kind of what I was looking for. Amazon was just an example, but it does what I want. Do you know if there is a more generic version of this I can use for other websites as well.

vBulletin has a feature called 'replacements' which will basically replace any string of text with something else when a page is generated. Replacements work anywhere including user posts.
