Is this possible - View subforum threads with category?

I was wondering if this is possible - or if there are any hacks available for this:

What I want to do is have a Category, which shows all the threads of its subforums.

You cant post a new thread in the actually category itself (you have to go to a subforum to post a new thread), but when posted in the appropriate subforum this thread will show up in the Category, and the Subforum.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Yes, what you do is lock the catagory thread (forums and moderaters -> edit forum -> forum is open: no

This lock will not be inherited to child forums. The downside to this is that a lock will be displayed on the main catagory, which may or may not discourage users from even entering. However, the lock can be disabled in the vboptions
