Hello!
So I'm looking for advice and suggestions on video sharing for my forum. I run a skateboard site and... obviously sharing videos would be important to the members of such a site. Currently the way we have set things up, is very liberal. There is a forum for posting skate videos, --of themselves and random ones they see on other sites. Members use a variety of different video hosts and formats, but somehow, it works pretty well. What would you recommend for this? Any good ideas, suggestions for a better solution?! We want a more organized setup, with video uploading to our server, instead of using Youtube and others. It would be nice if it were somehow integrated to the User Profiles, so members could checkout the most viewed video's of other members... Thanks from the Skateboard-City community, Tom-E |

Hm... you would likely get poor performance coupled with terrible bandwidth consumption by hosting videos on your server. Are you certain this is the kind of solution that you want?

well currently were using our dedicated server's processing power to good extent...
Server loads probably average around 1, at peak times, they can get up to 2 or 3, at other times, they drop very low. But our bandwidth consumption is tiny for what we are allowed. We use 100gigs/month of bandwidth, but are allowed 1200gigs/month. What would you say to that? |

bump,
Would anyone at all be able to tell me what kind of resource-change we would possibly see? |
