Subscriptions: PM Notification

Not sure if there is a hack for this, but I just posted another request on here and thought about this as I was doing it. I am going to go back and look at other hacks now, but had to choose email notification. Wouldn't it be good to have a PM options for large boards, so that I can be notified as I am browsing and head back to that thread?
