How can I remove the Sub-Forums: text beside the subforum list?

Untested but in the forumdisplay forum find:
$vbphrase[subforums]
and remove it. Should work

You can remove it from the admin section. It's one of the options there, can't remember it now.

You mean removing sub forums as whole or just the text 'Sub-Forums:'??
