profile fields viewable to buddies only

I tried slopping together something like this myself, but I gave up.

My specific reason for this is to have a profile field for a user's phone number. But I want it so it will only be viewable to users that the user has marked as a buddy.

That right there would be enough, but to make it a little more feature-rich, it might be nice to have it so the user could choose to have the profile field available to everyone or just buddies.

So anyway, I wouldn't think this would be too hard to a mod to come up with. At least the meat of it. The extra bit where a user could choose to have it viewable to everyone might be a little tougher, but I'm not too worried about that.

If someone could help me out with this, it would be much appreciated.
