hi,
i had someone do some custom work for me about 2 years ago. since then we have had a falling out so i can't ask him for help. anyway, the custom job was writing & integrating a Job Classified section with vB. He built the front end (eslhq.com/jobs) and the admincp. a while back i upgraded from 3.5.2 to 3.5.3 and the frontend remained but now i can't login to the backend (eslhq.com/jobs/admincp). if i go to that page and login, i just get sent back to that page. the admin page never loads, it just shows me the login form over and over. i have dug through the templates but couldn't find any templates for vB admincp or my custom admincp. i have looked at the .php scripts and found nothing that looked wrong. what could be causing my inability to access those pages. they did work fine in 3.5.2. the upgraded killed something. i just cant find what... any ideas eric |

did you keep a back up copy of your 3.5.2 somewhere?
Sounds to me like there was a function installed into your admincp file, that was over written, therefore not available anymore. Which will take you to your current situation, being that when you try to call out that template, it isn't there, just the link to your front jobs page section. It is very common to loose special program's like that especially during an upgrade. Hopefully you have a back up and can go look through a couple file's that the writter installed. |

hotwheels,
thanks, that must have been what happened. so, what do you mean admincp file? do you mean a .php file? what is that file called in vB because it would probably have the same name in the custom script as well? or does that file exist in the database? i probably have a back-up of it i just need to know where to look (ie. database or files) and possible names. thanks eric |

should be a call in your admin files.....
Let me clarify just a bit.....It won't be something you can find in the updated admin file's if that is where he placed some code, since it was over written. If i make a change to my funtion_user.php, i keep a copy of the changed .php and the original. That way if i have problem's, i can go back and revisit both .php files. It also could be a move he made in a template file, that directed you to the back end of the Jobs program. Which overwritting will install new templates.....when you log into your vbulletin admin panel, do you see anything that looks like this? Quote:
