Chat, Spellcheck and more
Hi,
Not sure if this is the right forum. My site is going to be upgrading to 3.6 soon and while my developer is doing the upgrade, I was thinking I would like him to add some things. The first is a chat applet. I'd like to have a hidden page for chat (so as not to take away from forum activity) where it would be tied into the same log in system but not be in any menus or anything, you would need to know the URL to access it if you know what I mean. And when you go to the url, if you are logged into the forum, you will automatically be logged into the chat under that username. If you're not logged in, you will have to log into the chat with your VB loging details. This way nobody can pretend they are somebody else. It would also be nice if there was an automatic spam detector bot and also for the admins to have abilities like kicking/banning/making chat moderators while in the chat room. When VB was first put on my site, just a few months ago, I requested that a spellcheck mod/hack, be put into the text box where you write posts. I remember it worked very well on a site I posted on some time before that. However, within the time of me wanting it on my site, the feature had been removed due to license issues with the spellcheck people. Has there been any updates on this or is there any alternatives? I'd like to be able to merge posts without chronological arrangement. I have a thread and I want the first post to remain the first post and to merge older threads into the same thread, however, with the chronological merging, the older posts will go before the post I want first. Is there any way around this? There's a few of the default header menu buttons I would like removed, such as "members list" and possibly "calendar". Is there any way around this? Any feedback would be appreciated |
