Not jaust "are there new posts" but "How many new posts"?

folks-

Okay, so there are a variiable that indicate whetherr aforum has new messagess and another that indicates that a threads has new mesages in it.

What i'm wondering is if there are variables that I can call that tell *how many* unread messages there are are.
