Help! Forum needs .php and .php4 files.
I've been a vBulletin member for a few years now, and maybe 3 years ago something went wrong and I had to upload both .php and .php4 files. Now, I just updated from 3.54 to 3.6, and again had to upload both .php and .php4 files.
I don't know if that is the reason, but when I'm trying to install a certain mod, I receive this error: Can you please advise why this would come up? I'm trying to install IP 2.3 on a newly upgraded 3.6 vbulletin. I receive this error, and the coder told me to ask vB because my vBulletin install is messed up (which it is). Can anyone please advise? Quote:

You shouldnt have to have both .php and .php4 files uploaded for vBulletin to work properly, it sounds as if you're hosting configuration is severly messed up, or a horribly botched vBulletin install.
I'd concentrate on why there is that problem before i went any further in the board. |

My forum is semi-big board status, with 100,000+ posts and 10,000+ members. I've just let things be and usually installed mod's that worked fine. Since i upgraded to 3.6 I just began to receive this problem. Is it definitely related to the .php/.php4 issue, or is their a quick resolution to the error message?

There are ways you can use an htaccess file to reroute a request for a .php4 file to a .php file.. but I'm not sure if that works internally or not =/
