Hi,
I'm new to vb hacks and i'm trying to do a very simple task of adding an extra hidden field to a post. I'm trying to integrate videoegg.com its a simple process of embedding a control which returns a filename reference to the video you uploaded. I want to store this reference against the post and when the post is viewed pass back the saved video reference to the player embedded control. The control bit is fine. The bit I'm struggling to understand is where or how you associate a variable to the post. I'm expecting to have a dbs row for a post to reference so i can store my var against the post (say in an extra field that i put on the table). How do I get the current post id? When I look at existing hack code I can't understand how you write extra fields data to the dbs. There doesn't appear to be an INSERT statement anywhere. (e.g. looked at the extra threadfields hack) I'd really appreciate a liitle insight into how this is done. Many Thanks Terry |
