Add New field when Making New thread

Im after this if anyone know how to make it.

When making a new thread - add a new Field Called Artists - and anyone who is in a set usergroup can Edit that field and credit themselfs if they where not credited by the thread maker.

Not sure if its possible or not but im afraid its soemthing i need.
