User Login "Strikes" System
Ive got a question and a modification request.
1st. Just wondering how I change the limit on the amount of wrong passwords a user attempts before it locks them out and then how do I change the time limit it blocks them out. A programmer has made a script that reads a certain part of my database and then sends a few values back to his sever, however if any user inputs a wrong password, it will then block everyone from his sever. Thus why I think If i modify the above it wont be so bad for everyone. 2nd. if someone could modify or make a mod for me, I want to make 1 IP address exempt from the User Login "Strikes" System. So that IP address can have as many wrong password attempts as they like. Thanks |

1) You would need to edit the code to change the limit of "5" attempts, the only setting is to turn this feature off or on 'Login "Strikes" System' in vBOptions

Okay thanks heaps for finding that part 2 for me. May I ask, have you seen that post before? or did you find it by searching, coz i searched and came back with nothing lol.
Also, If I was to modify the vbulletin code, what file would I need to edit, I should be fine with editing the rest, just not sure which file it reads that info from. Thanks. |

I'd read it a few days ago and searched on "strikes" to find it.
to add the IP address (or to change the value of 5 to something else) you need to just edit the one file functions_login.php |
