Private Message Expiration
Just recently I purged my entire PM system - about three years old and a board of maybe 400 active members. Of my 50mb database, 10mb of it was Private Messages. Due to the nature and content of my site, I'm finding it necessary to restrict use of the PM system and have started purging it monthly.
One modification I've been in search of would be something that allows all messages to expire or automatically delete themselves after x amount of days (or even delete themselves after being read.) Would this be easy to accomplish or has it been done already? |

Yes, this would be a handy addition.

So what I'm looking for here is the ability to have all PM's expire, however I'd like to be able to set this limit per usergroup. So for instance my usergroup of donating users will have their PM's expire in 180 days, while registered members expire in only 30 days. This would affect all folders, etc.
Another option, idea, would be for certain usergroups to have the ability to make their own messages expire in X days (this message will self destruct in 6.....4...3....2.....) Yes? No? Maybe So? |

this would be a really nice feature since it is a pain to clean the pm system up once you get so many.

Even just a simple sql query to remove PM's older than X would be cool....
