Default vBPatrons Cool Blue Style

Don't be shy, let's hear what everyone has to say.

I want to see what everyone thinks of the new style that has been created by vBPatrons. I think its great but I want to see if where we're going with our style creation is good.

http://www.vbpatrons.com/index.php?styleid=3 - Fluid Width
http://www.vbpatrons.com/index.php?styleid=4 - Fixed Width

I ask for review of both versions of the style.

Cheers
Steve

I'm mainly commenting on the fluid style because anything that applies to that is surely going to apply to the fixed variant.

The style itself is verynice, looks clean and uncluttered so top marks on that. However, there's a few issues I would deal with starting with the cat headers (.tcat). They look a little to short in height which is causing the text and collapse markers having space issues. Designing a header with a slightly larger height would give the collapse marker the same amount of padding (from the top of the marker to the headers hedge) the bottom of the marker hangs on the blue area and I personally feel it would look better if it didn't. placed on the white area without hanging on the blue would give it a tidier look.

I would also design a slightly larger bevel (left side of your header) so the text doesn't look so crammed. Alternatively, lower the size of the text would most probably be easier.

The text on the logo looks awfully jaggy which could easily be resolved by adding some anti-aliasing to it. Thus far, it looks very plain and jaggy.

Changing the default vb images would probably be a good thing. That would compliment the style a lot better and give this style a more custom feel to it.

Overall, it's a nice style with minor issues which would take no more than an hour to resolve.

Thanks Shelley, I will get on taking care of the minor issues. I agree with you but the person who helped make the style wanted to see how people reacted to it first. Coming from you, thats a good reaction but I agree whole heartedly.

Thanks again
