Default Dark Glossy Buttons (w.i.p)

Started designing some buttons about an hour ago and ended up with these. I'm kinda looking for suggestions, comments, anything that can be improved with this button set.

I've a feeling the font is going to be a problem for some people but I'll see what happens

Any feedback is appreciated.

Updated Set (shown on the right)

It not so much the font Shelley, but the coloring of the text.

For example, the closed and quote_on buttons (I'm gussing at that actually - I mean the reddish ones), are effectively blank for me. The rest are very difficult to read also. (Picture me at this point with nosed pressed against monitor and you won't be far out)

However, the style of them is very nice, smooth and to the point. The graphics are perfect on each one of them but not overbearing.

I was going to implement a different colour for the text on the red based buttons but thought keeping the colour consistent would pay off. Now that you've said that it's hard to read I would have to agree and have changed the text on all buttons.

I'm kinda glad you said it wasn't so much the font more the colour because I didn't really want to change the font.

I can actually picture you with your nose to the monitor because mine wasn't far off the screen (so much so I could feel the heat radiating from it).

I've re-coloured the text on this preview. Hopefully they will appear more prominant.

My eyes can't read that font. They can .. if I focus really hard. Dark orange on black background and so small, bit hard..

I really like the buttons though, pretty design.

I've changed the colour of the font, it's several replies down. Being short sighted myself I found it hard reading the orange on black which is why I took Kerry's advice for a colour correction.

I can't set the font any higher because it can only be set at 1 size. Any larger or smaller results in the font breaking up.

I haven't got my contacts in and I can read the white on black/red just fine. I'm guessing you didn't see the updated preview.

Edit: another with a different slightly larger and more uglier pixel font. (shown Below)

Shelley, ewww (sorry)

Please go back to the smaller font. It is much clearer. (I can read it without my glasses unlike that new bigger version)

You can count on that. I've had a mixture of reactions with these buttons all good apart from the font. I think I'm going to go back to the original font with the exception of them being white instead of the yellow that I first implemented.

I guess it's about keeping the majority happy. That said, I think all the suggestions you made kerry were prity much spot on which are appreciated.

The PSD wont be released though the button set will be released in the graphic database here very shortly which you'll be free to use on your vb forum.
