[REQ] Journal system for 3.6.0 RC2

i'd like to request some genious of a coder to create or port over the great journal system in 3.5.4 to 3.6.0 RC2, i think the original was done by annet though not sure, if someone would port it for us or contact annet to get permission i'd very much appreciate it...or make a new system similar to that one.

reason i'm asking....or begging rather is its a fantastic hacka and its a shame no ones done one for 3.6.0 RC2 yet.

my members and i would be so grateful to you guys if you could come up with some sort of solution.
