Adding new input to the add thread page

I want to add a new input to the add thread page (newthread.php) some thing like description.
I want the way to add the input, insert the data to the database and after that show it in the (showthread.php).

Can some one help me with this?

I'm pretty sure there's already a hack posted here that adds a Thread Description. There is also an article on adding your own fields to newthread/newpost.
