On my forum I have a paid membership and a regular free membership.

I would like to offer a couple of styles for regular members, but I would also like to offer even more for my paid members.

So I gues this would be a Style asssociated with a usergroup.

Just curious if anyone else could use something like this and more impartnat is something like this doable?.

Try https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=95910 I do basically what you are looking for with that hack. I haven't tried it on vb 3.6 yet though.
