Time-controlled default style
Hey there,
I was wondering, is it at all possible to be able to control the default forum style based on time. I have a day and night version of a specific skin, and would like to force the display of either one depending on the time of day. Right now, vbulletin forces the display of the daytime one as that is the default, and we do not allow other style selection. The idea that I have in my head is to force the showing of the day skin between 7am and 7pm, and the night skin between 7pm and 7am, using the member's timezone. Is this possible? |

Yes.. in theory it should be possible.
For example: I display a message in the navbar conditional on time of day (Good Morning, Username - Good Evening, Username)... it should, in theory, be possible to force a certain Style on viewers through use of that code and the 'Force Style on Search Engines' hack... Nice idea really. You could either post a request in one of the Request forums here.. or cross your fingers and hope nothing good comes on TV in the next few minutes and I will release it. |

Awesome! I look forward to it being able to use it.
Perhaps, if you are up to it, could have a setting in vb options to control it eg Enable Day/Night Style changing: Yes|No Day Style ID: # Night Style ID: # When should the night skin be activate? (The day skin will display at all other times): 6pm - 8am, 7pm - 7am, 8pm - 6am ETC. Even just a simple template edit would be awesome too! |
