Login problem after vB Move
Hi all,
I'm in the process of moving a vB to a new domain. I exported and imported my vb db without issue. The forum appears to work for the most part. The only problem I have is that logins do not work on niether the forumhome or the admincp - same thing happens on both. The login is recognized as successull and the redirection page appears, however, instead of being logged in on the forum, it's shows as logged out. When attempting to access admincp I get redirected back to the login page after successfull message and redirection. My first thought was cookie domain so I updated the cookiedomain field in the session table to the new domain name. Still no go, however. Same exact thing happens. I looked through the rest of the settings and didnt see anything else that looked to need update. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on where to look? Thanks, Max I forgot to mention that this is an older version of vB that I'll be upgrading during the move. vBulletin 3.0.1 |

The cookie settings are stored in the vb options, not really sure what you changed in the sessions table.
You need to upload the tools.php file that comes in the "do not upload" folder of your vb source, and run that, it will allow you to reset the cookie settings. |

gotcha, sorry - that was a typo, session == settings.
I've got access to the admin cp now, but I've got a lot bigger problems it would appear. The current problem I am working is after upgrading I am getting a ton of vB db errors - the error that keeps repeating on many pages is; Invalid SQL: SELECT varname, text FROM phrase WHERE phrasetypeid = 5000 AND languageid IN(-1, 0, 1) ORDER BY languageid ASC mysql error: Unknown column 'phrasetypeid' in 'where clause' This has been quite an upgrade... Thanks for the tip, Paul! Any thoughts on the db error? Max No need for any assistance here, I was able to get the board upgraded and everything is grooooovy. Thanks as always to the great help here at vb.org! |
