A Counterstrike gaming clan site

heya peoples, this is my first largish site, and to be honest its taken me a week or so to get it fully up and going, thanks to Vbulletin and VBadvanced

www.eos-clan.com - anyway would appreciate feedback, alltho i'm still working on the icons n buttons to neaten em out

Its a live site so dont register unless ya wanna join the clan lol :P

Interesting site. I've never played CS myself, but it looks interesting. Now, time for me to be overly critical. The flash banner you've got looks really neat, especially the snow effect, problem is -- it doesn't match up entirely with the right side of the banner. The portal, for me anyway, seems really bunched together. And what the heck is up with those buttons!? Grr! Maybe I'm just a moron, but how the heck do you get them to drop down? It was torturous trying to get one of them to work; I'd drag my mouse away from the button and the menu would expand and then when I moved toward it to click a link, it'd go back up -- argh!

The top flash one is interesting, i assume you mean when the snow stops....

Its hard to make that any different, as you dont want to make the flash huge! .... i'm not entirely sure how that can be fixed....

With regards to the menu, no-one i know has ever had a problem with it! hehe, so i'm intruiged!!!. Its just a simple java menu.... it may have just had an odd moment. :P

I think theres lots of improvements i could make, especially to liven up the front page :P

I know the colour scheme is a bit dark, but its aimed at the gaming community, so with great respect for short of site etc, i'm not sure that would be a problem..

Any solutions to the flash thing i'd appreciate hehe

css is great, i'm sure other people prefer Americas army etc, but its game i've enjoyed for a while, and a great stress releiver

Ha, I'm sure. I use SOCOM as my stress-ball equivalent.

What I meant by the flash bar was that if you look closely you can see the lines going through the flash portion don't meet up with the lines going through the regular image portion.

very nice, i like the VBGameServer.php add on its a great idea, and perfect for your site.

hehe, actually that does bring me onto another point, has anyone got any suggestions for th etop menu bar, because even as the designer i feel its just too much for any user.... - it may just be my poor organisation level tho! :P

The few gamer addons there are - are actually great, i must say that the people working on them have done a great job!!

Ok, i've now updated www.eos-clan.com 's menu bar! ... does everyone like it? i had a silver one before, and it looked odd, so i've decided simple is better, and also it doesnt get in the way!

All i'm missing is an Xfire user list... (not really usercp based tho!)

Well your lucky I actually proceeded to your forums because the flash splash page is an instant call to close the browser.

Nice images and buttons, and a typical dark gaming style.

I like your header, but I find your navbar rather lacking in the essentials such as register and search.

Great use of the legacy postbit and fieldsets.

The only other thing to watch out for is that your shoutbox has a lot of activity but there isn't a lot of recent activity in the actual forums themselves.

Heya, thanks for the great feedback! - working on the flash intro, there is a better version, but want to make it nice first

Search is under forum tools, definitley right tho, i find it hard to get the menu right! Its very difficult to decide what to put in em!!

hmmm The site is interesting, as there is only 30 people in the clan (large i know!)....

So nearly all of the posts are in the clans internal forums.... 3000 posts in 2 months so far, externally the main things people will see are tournaments i run etc....

after about 3 - 5 months things should hopefully pick up

Its my first attemp at a site like this, and thanks to VB its starting to work

That is a nice Flash intro. I'm glad that you've added a "bypass" link to your homepage. Man, I wish I could get stuff up in a week. Generally I take months to get a fully working site and frankly even thereafter I'm constantly working on it.

yes very nice flash your site will go very well, i noticed you even had the vbserver hack allready done, thats a must have for a clan site
