Default users editing thread titles

How can I make it to where the author of a thread can edit the title? Seems right now only admin and moderators can edit this... thanks in advance.

Admin CP --> vBulletin Options --> Message Posting and Editing Options
Look for "Time Limit on Editing of Thread Title"

I have the same problem. I have it set to "0" as well, but that doesn't help. People are able to edit their post and change the title, but it only changes the title within the post, and not on the main forum. Any idea why?

Yeah, I have the same exact problem now. They can edit the title of that single post but not the title of the entire thread... anyone?

Me to. When someone makes a non-descript title I like to go in and fix it so people might actually open in. Also we have a lot of typos due to our global site and so this messes up the searching results if certain words are not spelt correctly.

I can see that in order to edit the original title you have to select advanced after the original click on the edit button. As others have said this fixes the titles within the tread list but not on the title of the main thread in the list of threads for that forum.

I have used the admin to reduild thread info, forum info, post cache etc but this does not assist to rectify this issue. Can someone please help as I imaging the fix is simple as this must be a common issue

cheers

Is this a bug? When an admin edits a post title, it changes it for the thread as well, but when a user edits their post title, the thread title is left unchanged.

Does anyone have any solution to this problem?

That's the thing. When an admin edits a thread title, it changes instantly. When a user edits their own thread title, no amount of updating or processing in the maintenance section seems to have any affect. The title of the thread remains unedited, but once you actually go into the thread, you can also see what the user tried changing the title to.
