Simple style - VERY stripped down, VERY fast

This style is a SUPER stripped down skin. For instance: on forumhome and in the threadlist, instead of seperate icons for new threads, old threads, new posts, etc., they just use the same icons that are hard-coded in to cut way back on conditionals, etc. This helps the pages load A LOT faster. Also on forumhome, where it shows last post, it doesn't show the detailed time information, so it doesn't have to go look and see when the post was made, etc. All of the graphics are smaller and heavily optimized, everything about this style was done with loading times in mind. This would be perfect for very large forums that are starting to slow down, or small forums using shared hosting.

THIS DOES INCLUDE TEMPLATE CHANGES!!!

(Ignore the bright green new threads in the navbar, and the black and green user rank images in the postbit pic, they are from my style, and will NOT appear on your forum if you install this style).

Instructions: (also included in zip file)
1) Upload entire folder "simple" to your forum root folder.

2) Import style simple_style.xml (AdminCP>Styles & Templates>Download/Upload Styles>)

Thanks, a friend of mine has a forum on shared hosting, and it was starting to crawl, so I made this for him, and it's unbelievable what a difference it made! I plan to continue with this style, and make a few versions to choose from, with varying degrees of optimization. Eventually, I would like to make one that uses almost no graphics, very little color, and VERY resizable tables, to make it ready more mobile phone and pda use.

Yes, go to http://www.customfighters.com/forums/ and change the style on the bottom left to simple.

I haven't looked in the .zip but.. do you have plugins that stop the php from calling this information?

If not, it is still being called. It is like removing the Whos online box from a template and thinking that will lower load.

All that is achieved WITHOUT altering code is a slightly smaller HTML output.

Have a look in the .php files for wherever it is that the thing is that you don't want to display. Also includes/class_whateveritis.

Look for hooks that will let you add code to make whateveritis be not called.

Maybe have a look at the 'Dont show Whos Online on Forumhome for Guests' Modification. It uses hooks to not have that part called.

Sorry I can't be clearer.. it's not something I have attempted.
