Problem with my frontpage hack
I have just upgraded my forum from 3.0.8 to 3.0.14 with no problem. However when I upgraded to 3.5.4 my frontpage.php hack stopped working and all my members see is a No Permissions message. Can anyone shed any light on this. I have already discovered that the license code information etc has not been updated and that the script is checking access permissions. The unfortunate thing is I did not set this forum up and cannot write code.
I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. |

Scripts written for 3.0 will not work in 3.5, lots have things have changed.
It's impossible from here to say exactly what your problem is but I would expect that a bit of a rewrite is needed. |

Oh great, can I do that from within vBulletin style manager or do I need to use something else. I need to get rid of the No permissions message asap
The info from the end of the file is CVS: $RCSfile: index.php,v $ - $Revision: 1.132.2.8 $ Does that help anyone? |

Not really, it confuses the issue even more, in your previous post you mentioned frontpage.php - yet that extract says index.php (in fact that looks like an old vb index file). The style manager is not involved, that's for styles, not php code files.

I have bypassed the page as a temporary stop gap.
I am confused too - on the server the file quoted above (originally index) is called frontpage. The guy who set this up obviously used other people's work then modified it himself. I am going to have fun :tired: |

Your best bet for the short and long term is to go with a portal instead, like vBAdvanced. It's excellent, and cake to setup even for novices.
