I have searched and couldn't find anything to help me, but how do you put links in the banner.

AdminCP => Styles & Templates => Edit Templates (of the style you want to edit)

Then double click on the header template for editing the header or on the navbar template for editing the navigation bar

No, because the header template code of every style is different

Honestly, just making yourself some buttons and editing the template will probably take the same amount of time as downloading and configuring a plugin for it.
