how to remove ecdownloads ??

well i didn't know this site was having issues, but on a clients site I had installed ecdownloads for a week, then we removed it, at least I thought..

well i talked to the client today and he had 700 emails about vb errors..

doesn't someone have the hack so I can look thu it and figure out how to Completely remove it..

this is causing several other errors, and needs to be fixed asap..

anyone have the querry to fix this ? I'm not as good at MySQL when it comes to writing my own command

Uninstall the product and delete the files should do the trick

yeah but how do you know which files? sucks cause westpointer was going to release a fix then ronin came back... and he didnt even intend on fixing it all along... maybe you should grant westpointer permission to fix it since we heard weeks ago the staff was going to fix it and that never did happen....

I'm not aware of anyone on the Staff going to fix it, but if westpointer wants to contact us then maybe something could be arranged.

he has tried to do that and was pushed away and the thread was closed and told a staff member was fixing it.. look right here the proof is in the pudding...

Like I said, I'm not aware of anyone on the staff going to fix it, so I'm not sure why Brad said that. We contacted Ronin, who asked for some time to fix it, and that time has now passed, so the mod has been removed. If westpointer wants to contact us then he is free to do so.

Yeah ronin is clearly not going to fix it his support for it was lil to none... It was all westpointer who supported it and changed alot of the code anyway... Ill send westpointer a pm with this thread link so he can contact the staff and get this fixed and back up.. Just sucks he could of had it fixed awhile ago but was told staff was fixing it, i guess it was just a mix up with all the staff leaving and what not...

Right, I think things are just a bit mixed up. I HAVE fixed the security vulnerability in ecDownloads but I'm not quite ready to release it as a new, separate hack. (A while back Xenon approved doing this based on the licensing conditions contained in Ronin's orginal hack.)

I can either post it as a new thread or send the files to the staff to post in the current ecDownloads thread. Or, if I can somehow access the current ecDownloads thread myself (and modify the product info), that would be excellent.

If someone from staff can PM or reply here with how best to proceed, I'll do as told.

You need to delete the xml files associated with the product from includes/xml. They'll have ecdownloads as part of the file name.

The original author of this hack had never supported it (even form the 3.0.x versions). The popularity of this hack must be credit to westpointer who has done an excellent work so far.

INMHO westpointer deserves to be the owner of this hack ...
