my site is a html site, but i have a forums on the site, i want to put the latest 5 threads on the front page so people can click on the thread title and goto that thread in the forums and reply to it...
i also want to put a foum log-in on the frontpage of my site all to try and increase member numbers and interest in the forums |

If you're looking to put vB content on a non-vB page, you'll need to do some searching. There are a few ways to do it listed here, IIRC. From reading your post, it sounds like you'd be much better served by adding portal software, since vBAdvanced (for example) will immediatley do what you're looking for.
