Premium mod section for Links & Download Manager.
AndrewD's Links and Download Manager is very popular. The thread discussing the 3.5 version has 2135 replies so far. Few people are going to read the whole thread to find out specific questions. A seperate section is really needed, to cover the various aspects of this modification.
The LDM is one of the most important modifications on vb.org IMHO. The support Andrew gives is truly unrivalled. The LDM does not only urgently need a premium mod section, it absolutely deserves it. So hereby my request... |

I would only ask for this if AndrewD agreed with it. AndrewD is very good at keeping up with the thread and it's very rare he misses a post. I don't know if AndrewD would prefer a whole forum deicated to his hack as he might prefer the way he does things now. I'd wait to hear what AndrewD says on the subject.

It is up to the Author to request a premium forum, the staff will then consider the request.

The author speaks...
I think it will be very helpful for eveyone when LDM has its own forum. There are too many variations (with more coming, I hope) for one long thread to be adequate. I am very happy with the suggestion |

Thank you for your request AndrewD, we will keep this in mind, however we have stopped creating new Premium Support forums pending all the changes that we are going through in the next couple of months. We don't know yet if there will be a special place for Premium Support forums in the new setup, or that we will handle these modifications in a different way.

For the meanwhile it would be good to create various threads on LDM in the major additions forum, to create a better overview. Maybe one central thread with links to all the other LDM threads.
The LDM is applied in so many ways, causing the 143 page thread to cover all those different topics: - Link directory management - Music libary & player - Video libary - documents & file manager - radio station directory - photo gallery - integration with vBadvanced & many other hacks(contains many modules) - many add ons for LDM for various purposes I am sure I am forgetting a mass of important topics, which should have their own thread IMHO. |

I'll support anything that helps Andrew out.
this is truly one of the most woefully underrecognized hacks and Andrew's support unrivaled. I was on of the first to install it when first release and still one the top ones I'm always anxiousl watching as each update makes it better and better. vb should give him a premium forum in the meantime even if it has to change again later with whatever updates vbulletin.org is planning. This hack is too robust and the thread too long. I'd even go to another site to get that support. anyway... to repeat: whatever makes things easier for Andrew... I'd support. this hack and his support absolutely PWN all. |
