Removing spacer_open & spacer_close - How?

The style I am developing doesn't make use of either and I would like to remove them altogether from the coding. They have been removed from the templates, though the templates are still called through vBulletin.

I'd like to simply drop the queries being made for these templates. Anyone know right off where they're located or if I can remove templates via a plugin?

Yeah, to be honest, neither of the templates serve a purpose. A basic wrapper would function just as well, if not better and could be inserted globally with template calls already being made through the header, footer and navigation areas.

That alone eliminates 2 template calls and 2 items to be cached.
