i am loking for a hack that allows me to display a infobox that is showing important infomations to the user when starting a new topic.

exactly like the message i see now when starting this topic.
have been searching the forum but no luck so far.

I guess you mean the Forum Description?

You can enable it by going to Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Forum Display Options (forumdisplay) -> Set 'Enable Forum Description' to yes

this would also put the forum description on forumdisplay, showthread, newthread and newreply...

no i meant a Info Box that is only shown when a new topic is started.

i managed to add it manually in the newthread template
