Default Can I specify 'teams' with linked avatars?

Let me explain:

I would like to have a forum that pits 2 groups against each other. So, when you register, you have to pick a team/group (example: Red or BLUE) and then your avatar is linked to these groups so everyone will know what team you are on in the forums.

I've heard there is a plugin that forces registrants to choose a group which would be nice. Can you link avatars to certain groups?

Any of this possible?

I'm a complete noob with vbulletin but I'm thinking about buying a license. I really don't need it unless I can do what I'm asking... how hard would it be?

You edit the postbit template and do

<if condition="$post[usergroupid] == redteamidnumber"> img code for the red team avatar</if>
<if condition="$post[usergroupid] == blueteamidnumber"> img code for the blue team avatar</if>

Takes about 30 seconds.

so, what about forcing the registrants to choose a Group? Is that a formal plugin?

OK, first in the admincp go to
User Profile Fields -> Add New User Profile Field
then select single selection menu
then fill in options
On Field Required select YES
im still looking for somthing but now it will make it so the user cannot post untill the edit that option and choose a "team"
[EDIT]
*Then go here to this hack it might help you a bit

That will create a field, but that field doesn't do anything. I mean, I can create a field called color with options: Red or Blue, but that doesn't put the members into a certain group.

@ThePiston
Thank you for your interest in vBulletin.

In our Pre-Sales forum we can only give generic answer, if something is posible for example.

Detailed answers with instructions can only be given once you have bought a license.

Hope you can understand this.
