Default Forum vs Forums
Where do you have vB installed?

I noticed this site uses /forum, which is also what I use, but have seen many sites using /forums.

/talk

Was going to use discussions so it would be accessed via discussions.domain.com and a redirect from www.domain.com/discussions. But that word is just too long and I get tired from typing it. So I changed it to talk. Now it is talk.domain.com and www.domain.com/talk.

I'm getting some one in to make me a site. So yeah, the forums will have to go in another directory, which is /forum.
