How does my forum look

Just wanted to know what you guys think about the look of the homepage. Do you liek the banner, if not what can I do to improve it? I want to keep the size done to keep load times up. Thanks

The banner, I think needs some work. I do like the color scheme, but the navbar is also a little crammed up against the header as well.

do you guys have any ideas on how I could make the banner more appealing, I like the links to the different sports I have, but I could change it up.
