Display post on external pages based on post icon?

I was wondering if there is a way to display the first post of a thread on an external non-vb php page based on the post icon?

Basically one of my post icons makes the thread a news item. I would like to show the news post on the front page of my non-vb php site.

How would I do this?

Thanks,

Joey

Anyone? Please help.
