Hi Guys,
On my forum, I've added some of my custom fields to the member list such as their Title being a seperate column for example. I'd like to organize the memberlist (by default) according to their Title in DESC order. I'm figuring this requires editing the core memberlist.php file, which I've looked through but can't quite decipher where I need to edit. I know I can't post the whole file or the entire code up, but I'm hoping I can find some help on this. I vaguely remember writing PHP code for PHP Nuke to sort via mySql query commands when it creates an array, but alas I'm not sure how it's done via the more powerful vBulletin, and I'm no programmer. Anyone know how to do this or what code to edit? Thanks in advance, Brian I tried asking at vbulletin.com but they won't offer help on editing code, funny when they'd be the ones most comfortable navigating their own code. Anyone? |

Anyone? C'mon guys, I asked in VBulletin.com and they said to come here. If you guys don't know, is there any other VBulletin community websites that actually answer questions? Dang, phpBB there's TONS of websites for people to ask questions and get help, pay all this money for a professional board and no one's willing to answer questions.

I've searched. The only topic I found with a little information to edit memberlist.php didn't work for me.

I'm looking for the same thing.
I'd be pulling my hair out if I weren't bald. I've presumably read the same posts you have. Still haven't found any way to. It'd be really nice to be able to sort by VIN or Year in my forum. Gotta be some way to do it???? |

I figured a work around. Not ideal I guess but it does the trick and ends up with the same result for me.
I added extra search options to "order by" in the memberlist_search template. That way you can just hit a blank search and order by VIN or Date of Manufacture. Not as ideal or easy as clicking on the arrow at the top of the column. But with the lack of help tis better than nothing. |
