I have found a few instructions for adding a right or left column, but they all seem to run the entire height of the page. I want the vBulletin navbar, welcome message box, etc to be 100 per cent wide, with a right column below that beside the topics. I was thinking this would be a good place to put my adsense, sponsors ads, etc.

Any suggestions?
