Why doesn't $foruminfo[replycount] work in FORUMDISPLAY?

Oddly enough, there are other calls to $foruminfo[x] fields in the FORUMDISPLAY template, but why doesn't $foruminfo[replycount] work?

I can't figure out why it won't work.. but also don't want to create a query for the info since I am pretty sure it can be done without the extra query.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Oops, I typed that wrong in my first post. Yes I meant $foruminfo[replycount].

No go though. That's why I am asking here.
