Hi all,

I have allot of hacks installed and am worried that if i upgrade, meaning replace all php files and run the upgrade script that all my hacks will be destroyed. Ho wdo i go abou tupgrading safely? Will i have to reinstall my hacks? Some hacks requires php file changes. I'm runnin g 3.5.3

according to a vB person Colin F. yes you will loose all hacks.. but hopefully you have them saved! so you can reinstall them once you upgrade.. it will be a little time consuming yes! but worth it in the end! trust me!

im doing the same thing.. upgrading from a hacked version of 3.5.0 GOLD to 3.5.4 so do the upgrade.. and then redo your hacks..

What coul dbe the HUGE diff between 3.5.3 and 3.5.4?

If you have file edits, you will only need to redo the file edits... All your plugins will still be there.

So we just do the upgrade as normal , then re-do the file edits ?

Is it really that simple ?

Yes. Upload the new files, run upgrade.php, re-hack any php files that you edited before the upgrade.

You should also revert any templates that have been updated and re-apply any changes you made before to upgrade to them.
