Gallery and Arcade add-ons.. are they server/resource intensive?

I was just wondering, trying to weigh up whether it's worth installing these?

Are they worth it in relation to server resources they use up? How much of a pain is it making a back up if all your users start uploading a gallery? When in use do thye take up much resources?

What are your thoughts?
