Default My custom style - criticism wanted

After searching the forums for a style like the one I had in mind, I couldn't quite find one, so I ended up attempting to make my own. It's my first attempt, but I want it to end up looking phenomenal, so I'm asking for criticisms and advice. Don't be gentle--I can take criticism. Just tell me what your suggestions are for what I should change.

p.s. If you all actually like it and can tell me how to upload the style for others to download it, then I can do that as well. Just let me know.

I believe the best option for you at this point would be to stick with the default vbulletin style. Your current style is a bit boring and does not offer a lot of contrast in some points. By the way, what's the site about?

TIP: The more contrast that exists between an object and it's background the easier it is to read / view it.

Are you saying more contrast between the background and the text block? Or between the text colors and the background?

It's a site for a game called Runescape. I created it in January, and it's already at over 200 members. I've spent a lot of time customizing the icons to match those in the game (the runes used in the statusicons) and am about to make the buttons. As far as the color scheme goes, I want it to be relatively dark, but I agree I need to add more contrast somewhere...

I'm also designing the main page as well, and could use some constructive criticism in that at www.runeescape.net

Something about it reminds me of a site from the mid 90s.....

I think its the background image that seems to lack clarity. It reminds me of something made in the 90s because of that lack of crispness.

What da hoof would be due to lack of two feet of the person in my avatar.

Unlike Pulp Fiction, it is the unrevised version ofe the verse. I love it!

The background image needs to go. Would look better with a more smoother forum background colour.

Also you have a lot of forums - bit intimidating for new members.
