Default Can I manually change a member's ID number?

For some reason one of my most active members' account got deleted. Well he made a new one with the same exact name but the forums arn't recognizing it as the old one (all his old posts have blank postbits, and the arcade's high scores are blank when he has it). Is there a way I can manually change his userid?

Use MySQL or another SQL query tool to change it in the database.
You can also run a query from the admincp.
I guess that's the only way.

Short answer, No.

Userids are embeded in so many places you risk doing a lot of damage, besides which if he was deleted properly, all his posts would have been set to guest anyway (userid 0) so there is no way to get them back.

The thing is it apparently deleted itself. No person touched his account... it just disappeared for some reason. I hadn't messed with anything that day... it was just gone. His postbits only have his username, nothing else. His name disappeared on the Memebers List and his member profile disappeared... everything. But it still recognizes the username on posts only. It's odd. :surprised:

Far be it for me to question anything, but users don't delete themselves.

If you don't know the schema inside-out and know 120% what you are doing:

Forget it

if the posts are still there, will MERGE USERS possibly assign old posts to new user (ID) ?

I know it sounds strange. I don't have an explaination for it.

It seems something happened that night that effected alot of things. The most noticably is that user disappearing but it's come to my attention that a few other things went wacky too. I'm baffled.

One thing is this on one user's PM's... there used to be messages there but not anymore. And when he trys to download it as a .txt file it says they're all "Unreadable Data".

Think I'm just going to revert to an ancient backup. Won't hurt much.

Can't get any more clear and to the point than that, heh. I was afraid I couldn't do it.

The thing is the original account doesn't exist anymore so there would be no member to merge with. Basically the forums think the posts don't and never had an owner.
