Option to edit original poster
I would like a simple way to edit the original poster of a thread.
Any suggestions? |

I know there was a 3.0 hack that allowed editing Poster & posttime, not sure if it was ever ported to 3.5.
If you want to change it to some special user, then you might want to have a look at my Post by Proxy hack, see my profile. |

Thanks for the reply.
I saw the post by proxy - cool idea, but I just need a simple option to change who the original poster was. For example, we have a forum where folks can only see their own posts and the admins can see all of them and reply (instead of using PMs). It would be VERY handy to have an editor so an admin could post a new thread and then change the author to the person the admins want to chat with. I'll have to search around for the 3.0 hack and see if it works or what would be required to port it over. Additional insight welcome... Quick update... I found this thread: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=61412 and it had pretty much what I wanted - maybe more but for version 2. Psionic Vision created something similar but a whole bunch of new functionality here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=107557 I guess I'm just looking for something too simple. If usergroup = x then show extra edit box for editing author. |
