Help!! Need to know how to show standard editing screen for unregistered users!!
Our busy forum is used primarily by unregistered users. The big draw is that they can post anonymously. When I used the admin demo, I noticed that when I was posting as an unregistered/not-logged-in user, the input screen where you input posts is a very stripped-down version of the one where registered users post. We really need them to be able to use the same editing screen. It doesn't have to be WYSIWG - they just need to be able to have the toolbar with text enhancements, smilies, etc. I have searched and searched for where to change this option, but cannot find it. Can someone please help??? Is there a hack or a way to modify the code to do this??
We really want to purchase and install vb this weekend, but we really need to know if this feature is possible before purchasing. Thanks for any input |

Sorry can not check it right now myself.
I suggest you post this question at vbulletin.com, since that is the main website for support on general vB questions. |

Thank you Marco, I have asked it over there as well, but no one has yet been able to answer my question definitively. I wanted to post over here to in case someone might know the answer.

If it is not possible by default, i can't imagine it would be very hard to create as a modification (never saw a similar request before though, so can't say for 100% sure).
Only problem i could think of is if the guest is using a browser that is not capable of (or using security settings preventing) the use of some functions needed. PS Is the Go Advanced option not available to Guests? |

Update: I have spoken with vbulletin sales, and this is definitely a code issue. In other words, it can't be done through the admin panel. I am assuming it can theoretically be done. I have worked on very simple code mods myself with ubbthreads, but without knowing anything about the code in vb, I am not sure I would be able to do the mod myself once we purchase it. Is there anyone out there that could help us with this if we purchase vb?? Is there anywhere to request a hack, or hire someone to do the mod for us?? This is very important and I need to know a definitive answer to see if it can be done.
Thank you!! |

If you want to give it a try yourself, you could start by looking at our Tutorial section, and look at some other modifications to get an idea. If you have any questions about modifying, you can ask them here in our forums.
You can request if a coder wants to create a hack for you in our vB3.5 Modification Requests forum (free). If you want to hire a coder to do the job for you, you can post in our Service Requests forum. Please read the stickied threads in the top before hiring anybody. |
