Default What's the chat plugin of choice for vb sites?
So what seems to be the chat plugin of choice for vb sites?

I'm looking for something that'll use the user's site ID, not require any additional registration by users, and not be ad-driven.

Suggestions?

that would most probably be flashchat then.

How many (simultaneous) chatters are you expecting. For < 25 then I would agree with flashchat. Any more than that and you really should look at something else (unless you have a good dedicated server).

Flashchat work for me also easy to install and you can find mod for it here .

I'd say 25 would be the max.

I found the FlashChat mods, but couldn't tell if they WERE FlashChat, or if they just integrated FlashChat into vB. I just did some googling and found the FlashChat site so I guess that answers that for me. I'll have to download and get it going.

If I have a solid dedicated server (dual opterons, 4GB RAM, SCSI drives) do you think FlashChat can support up to 50 users?
