Default Old splitting method.

My forums (forums.gamewinners.com) are running on 3.5.0. Basically, my moderators have been having to adjust to the new method of splitting threads since we upgraded from the old version. Having to go through every page and select all the posts is time consuming in forums that get a lot of traffic (I advise my moderators to split threads at 100 posts).

Previously, it'd take me all of 5 seconds to load a thread, split out the posts and post in the old one with a link. Now, having to load at least 3 pages just to select everything, it'd take at least 20.

Is there any way that the old method could be incorporated? Preferrably in a plugin or some such, as I simply run the forums for the owner of Gamewinners.com meaning he alone has access to the server any file-edits would have to be applied by him, and let's just say he's not terribly active when it comes to the forums and their growth.

Any help will be appreciated.

While not a solution, here's a trick to make it easier.

1) Go into the options and set it so members can choose to display 100 threads per page.

2) Have your mods go into the user CP and set that as their default view, at least while they're splitting the threads, they can change it back later.

3) Click on the last page, and you'll see a list of threads. Note that the pages are now in nice even increments of 100.

Here's the trick I just discovered. At the very right side of the page, directly under where it says "Page 1 of X", there's a small down arrow. Click on that, and it says "From this page". One of the options is "Select All".

By using "select all" on each page, and having the page in increments of 100, it's pretty quick to split the thread.

So to split threads do I:

1. Create a new thread with an opening post.
2. Go to the old thread and select the posts I want to move.
3. Move the selected posts to the new thread?

I've got a 400+thread that has changed the topic at 374.

What's the best way to split the thread?
