DESCRIPTION

When a person attempts to perform a registration, this hack checks user, post, adminlog and moderatorlog tables for entries with the person's IP address. If such entry is found, an error message is displayed.

good idea but would suck for those on dial up and aol's junky service that share the ip's with people. might loose some registered users.

Agree with GoTTi, unless you have an old account or a business account, most ISP's no longer issue static IP's. Nice idea though.

Many cable providers do issue static IPs. This was done by a request though, so it's not my idea.

Great idea, but it will prevent people using public/free internet from signing up. I'm not sure, but wouldn't this also block office people or large companies? Just a thought.

Yes, it would. I, personally, don't see any use to this hack... However, someone asked me to do it, so I did If anyone likes it - feel free to install, if not - feel free to not install. You are not obligated

Isn't that strange - I did exactly the same thing by request the other day - but they want an exceptions list adding (which I must get round to doing ).
